You have to keep looking and be within their range. Rubber bands are used as missiles to stun them. Get a large one (or several) from the stationary store. I think the size number is 107. They are about 1/2" wide and 6" long. Practice shooting them off your index finger. By springtime (U.S.) you should be adept enough to hit one. Don't waste your time looking when the weather is cold.
