How can I gain acting roles in local plays?

I have acting experience from drama at school I do not have a lot but I have some how would I go about get acting roles in my local area in plays I do not know any places also Im 14 and how much would it cost if I had an acting role in a play also I live in Stoke-on-trent in the UK
