Is this alright? rabbit experts please!?

i am getting a baby rabbit and yes it is old enough but i have a indoor cage and i am going to put in the porch wear it is roomy,shady,and has a roof and also screening.and i live in florida so its mostly hot so i decided to keep a frozen ice bottle so it can lean on it when it is hot.and put a towel over it to keep it from blindness when i turn on the light.and do i have to feed my rabbit timothy hay?and do u think it will be hard to train it to go to the same spot in the cage when the rabbit has to go? i want to keep it inside but my mom dosent like the smell so to keep it in the back porch.thanks so much
